On June 7th I planted the first seeds of Virginia and Burley — about 12 of each, divided into 6 separate spots. These are the project's pilot seedlings, planted to test the process before the definitive planting, scheduled for August.
The first surprise was the size of the seeds. They are tiny.
When you pick them up between your fingers, you genuinely wonder if they're even real — they barely seem to exist.

Planting was done here on the apartment balcony, using indoor growing techniques: proper substrate, a full-spectrum grow light, and a healthy dose of creative improvisation — as every respectable homegrown project demands.

Germination is expected in about two weeks. Let's see how this unfolds.
